Motherest

I luxuriated over every single word of this book. Kristen Iskandrian’s debut novel is no short of stunning. Motherest centers around 19-year-old college girl Agnes and her struggle to find her footing after her mother disappears. Motherest is evocative, and perfectly rendered. I laughed loudly and teared up constantly. This book wraps its arms around the angst of freshman year, around loneliness and sadness, around mothers and daughters, around friendship and new love, and around giving life. Don’t miss this book.
