My Year of Rest and Relaxation

Fans of Ottessa Moshfegh and her earlier work (Eileen and Homesick for Another World) will delight in the absolute darkness and absurd hilarity of My Year of Rest and Relaxation. Our narrator is young, thin and newly graduated from Columbia. The world is her oyster except that she wants to sleep through it. With the support of a wacky psychiatrist and the most insane combination of drugs, we are along for the drug-addled ride of a young woman trying to disengage in order to reengage.  This book sparkles underneath its layers of dark weirdness.
