Still alive and reading

The last time I posted was a long while ago. During my radio silence, I had twins who have added a lot of fun and chaos to our family. While I’ve still found my way through books, maintaining this ongoing reading list of mine felt like a pipe dream.

At this writing, I’ve been home with my kids for about six weeks, with six more weeks left until the “official start” of summer. The only way that I’ve been able to escape my reality of homeschooling my old married couple and keep alive and entertain two teething and climbing 19-month-olds is by reading whenever I can. (Can: usually means at night after everyone is in bed, with a honking glass of wine next to me.) The Groundhog Day movie we all are starring in, is broken up a bit by these wildly different worlds.

Need something super light and a little vapid? Or, a book so dark that it makes what we’re living through right now, pale in comparison? A little YA? A murder mystery? A sociological expose of the sexual lives of teenagers? A love story? There’s probably something here for everyone.

May one or two of these books help you break free (momentarily) from this wild and unprecedented moment in time.
