The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel is gorgeous and haunting. Think: a luxury hotel on a remote island, a beautiful but tormented bartender, a Ponzi scheme and a crime at sea. This book is as good as Station Eleven (but in a completely different way, and if you haven’t read Station Eleven yet, don’t right now… it’s about a worldwide pandemic that wipes everyone but a few away!) The Glass Hotel will sweep you away, in the best possible way.
